I'm quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this novel. I think this novel tells a really sweet story that made my heart feel good. If you liked The Fault in Our Stars, you might want to check this one out. It's a teen love story that centers around an illness. The voice of the teens in this book felt very accurate and real to me. Some of the sentiment expressed about their feelings for one another felt real and true to how I felt at the same age.

Loving someone as fiercely as my mom loves me must be like wearing your heart outside of your body with no skin, no bones, no nothing to protect it. Love is a terrible thing and its loss is even worse.

I loved this book for the same reasons I loved The Fault in Our Stars. It's the best of YA - filled with discovery and wonder, and some heartbreak too.

Madeleine is just turning 18. She has lived her life, as far back as she can remember, in isolation with the exception of her mother, her beloved nurse Carla, and an occasional visit from one of her tutors. YA sweet book about girl who is allergic to everything, meets boy next door who has a troubled family, fall in love and then they discover some secrets that throw off the world as they know it. Cute, predictable, annoying parts, overall enjoyable.
