This is my favorite book right now...I might even like this one more than Poisonwood Bible. The amount of emotion this book stirred up in me is more than incredible. I loved it!!!! It's about dogs as much as it is people. It's an amazing story. The ending was so unexpected compared to what I thought was going to be predictable. I can only say this....WOW WOW WOW...and WOW again !!! If you read one book in the near future, this should be the one !! Put it on your bookshelf now on your 'to read' l

I really enjoyed this novel. It was fairly slow moving and deliberate but in a good way. I just reveled in the language, how well-written it was. The story was crafted so well and I loved how David Wroblewski put his words on a page. He took the time to set up the people and places of the novel in a quiet, restrained way which I loved. The pace was a nice change - slow, meandering, and beautiful. But, never boring in any way.

I kind of put off reading this book for awhile, I am not a dog person and really am not fond of books or movies that feature animals, but I kept hearing how great this one was, so I relented and picked it up! What can I say, I LOVED it, so much in fact I finished it in two days! The writing is just gorgeous, the characters beautifully written, just a really, really great read!

Favorite quote: "Life was a swarm of accidents waiting in the treetops, descending upon any living thing that passed, ready to eat them alive. You swam in a river of chance and coincidence. You clung to the happiest accidents -- the rest you let float by." (pg. 457)
The ending was brutal. If you're into Shakespearean tragedy, go for it. Wish I'd been warned.

I got caught up in the 'Hype' of this book. I was very disappointed. I did not like the way it ended. So many unanswered questions.
