I found the writing style at the beginning part of the book to be clunky (and it wasn't the use of "he" either). However, once I became used to it, the story really took off for me. Like the Romanovs, I also find the Tudors to be a fascinating group of people, and frankly, I never get tired of reading about Henry VIII.

I totally give up. I am so confused. I really wanted to keep going but I have no idea who is talking half of the time. Somebody else give it a try :)

Well researched story about Thomas Cromwell who counseled Henry VIII while he divorced Katherine of Aragon then married Anne Boelyn. It is not a quick or easy read. Interesting, but at times confusing since there are so many characters - many named Thomas. I was very glad Ms. Mantel included information at the front of the book (including a family tree) which I could refer to when necessary.
