I got an excerpt of this last year at BEA and met Junot Diaz who was so charming that I bought a hardcopy of this book at Bookshop Santa Cruz. Although it is a slim volume, I put off reading it and finally thought that it would probably be better in audio. I find most anything with accents, or foreign language is better in audio and that was certainly the case with this. Okay, so this book did nothing for me. The characters were not well written. I could not connect with anyone in the book and definitely not with Yunior, I really thought he was a creep. The only thing I liked about the book was that it was very short.

Was not nuts about this one. The men were all just pigs, and the women were for the most part weak.
