I have to admit that for once I have no idea how to start this review. I mean, the book was very surprising for me. To start, I must be honest: I have no clue what the difference between a cyborg and an android is *sheepish* Not even the tinniest clue, so I was a little lost at times. I guess if I think about it really hard, I suppose androids are just robots and cyborgs are former humans? *shakes head* I think I'll leave it here, or I risk making a fool of

2 1/2 stars. I listened to this on audio. I so wanted to like this book because of all the hype around it. It is a retelling of Cinderella in the future as a cyborg. The audio of the computer voice became a bit annoying. And I felt the story was a bit boring which lost my interest. The part about how she became a cyborg was interesting. But there was just way too much technical which lost me.

I was so hesitant to start this series because it's sci-fi and that's not really a genre I enjoy, but I loved this book. I was fascinated by the story and some of the characters, Cinder, Iko, Peony, Kai and Dr. Erland. I loved to hate Adri and Queen Levana, which I'm sure was the intention. I can't wait to read Scarlet and I hope the characters from this book are in it. ...more

Let me start by saying I started out reading the first few chapters of this book thinking I wasn't going to like it. I have never read a book like this before, futuristic with cyborgs with a Cinderella twist. Having said that, I was totally wrong about this book! Wowza! I loved this whole book! This book had me hooked after only a few chapters in! The world building was amazing. The characters were amazing! This book puts a futuristic spin on the tale of Cinderella with Cinder, the main characte ...more

Wooo I can't believe I've waited soooo long to read Cinder! This is probably my favourite (non-contemporary) read of this year so far! Cinder is a retelling of Cinderella who is a cyborg and honestly I wasn't crazy about the idea. I read it because I really love fairy tales plus everyone raves about it so I had to see what's the hype is about and yes the hype is real and it's worth the hype!

I didn't give it 5✮ just because I did feel the writing slightly lacking and I think she did give aw

This book was pretty good. Very different than I was expecting. The only complaint that I have is that I think it was a bit drawn out. However, it wasn't to the point where I was bored. Very good overall and I recommend you check it out! ...more

Cinder is a totally different take on the cinderella story and I absolutely loved how the author used bits from the original story and twisted them in a new way. This book was really good, and I ended up enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would. The only reasons I gave this book a 4 star was because while it was entertaining, it seemed that everything huge happened in the last 50 pages of the book. Also I was able to guess the "shocking reveal" by page 10. Other than that, I really did en ...more

As much I was expecting to enjoy Cinder, I never expected to love it so much. I was utterly captivated the whole time and I am so happy that I added to this my July TBR pile. Everything in this book worked perfectly for me, and now I'm desperate to read the sequel!

Aside from Throne of Glass, Cinder is the only fairytale re-telling that I have enjoyed. It was a different experience and I am so happy that I liked this one. It was very interesting to find similarities between Cinderella and this bo
