WOW I can't wait until my book buying ban is up so I can get the rest of the series.

To put it simply, this book is trying way too hard to be a young adult dystopian novel. I loved the synopsis on the back of the book, but was extremely disappointed that the book didn't really stay true to that or explained why anything happened. It was extremely hard to believe that the only country that was still around was the US. How do you put all the other continents underwater without raising the sea level and wiping out the US as well? None of that logic made any sense. And as far as the

Going into this book I was extremely skeptical. People seem to be divided when it comes to this story and I can see why. I personally enjoyed it. It did take me a little bit to get into it, but I thought the story was well told. I have never read a book that dealt with polygamy, and the idea of having sister wives is a bit odd, but this story had an interesting take on it. I enjoyed reading about the relationships among the sister wives, and the relationship with the husband was well... akward.

I bought Wither to put an honest review of it up on my blog.
Wither is a story of a 16 year old girl named Rhine who is captured by the society I guess you would call it, and she’s thrown in a van with a bunch of other teenage girls who could possibly be wife material for Linden Ashby. Her and two other girls are picked and moved to the mansion to be married and to live in the mansion with each other as sister wives.

This book was not at all what I expected. The beginning was weird and deliciously creepy. It was unlike anything I've read in awhile. While the concept was very intriguing, the rest of the book wasn't that good. Much of the rest was typical "YA dystopia." One of the things that I did like about the book was the author's writing. It was filled with detailed descriptions and thought-provoking metaphors and questions.

I was tossing between giving the book 3 or 4 stars but I finally gave it 4 because it did make me stay up to read. I found myself wanting to know what happens. In saying that, there was some questionable parts in the plot like why would 13 year old child get impregnated, just doesn't seem right.
I personally find the beginning could have been better, I did not really get into the books until quite a few chapters in. The world building wasn't the best but it was passable. The characters did develo ...more
