This is a wonderful novel filled with exciting plots and page turning twists and turns. You find yourself relating almost entirely to one (or more) characters at one point or another. Although it's a fantasy, it's so well written you find yourself believing the Lost Cities might just exist.
Shannon Messenger really did a wonderful job with this book and highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to pretty much ruin their lives by caring too much for a character's emotions. :D

I do not agree with the age limit 8-12 as it is too restricting. There are various things throughout this book and the others in the series that make it more of a 12+, and certainly not for an 8 year old such as:

Don't get me wrong, these things are AMAZING in a YA novel, but I do NOT think an eight year old kid can actually understand and grasp the concept for what it really means.

This was a really good book. It was amazing, me and my best friend and younger sister still gush about stuff that happened in it today. It was a great read and an amazing book. I would totally recommend it to anybody who loves books.
