I started this book with great expectations, as criminal psychology and forensics have always interested me. I was engrossed till the first one third, but at 30% my troubles started - I found the book circumnavigating the story and dragging on and on... there were a few psychological theories described in between, but on the whole, the huge middle chunk (30-70%) was unappealing and boring. Really seemed like this book teetered at being great. I enjoyed the historical setting and pondering the beginnings of CSI and psychological profiling, but the hunt for this killer seemed to ramble and not exactly take too long, just meandered in a manner that made me think something more was going to come of it, but alas, it did not.
