So yes, I jumped on the bandwagon. This has been making the rounds lately both because of the political climate we're currently struggling through and the series that is soon to be released.

This is my first Margaret Atwood book and I will say I enjoyed the writing. It was structured very differently from most books. There would be a pause in between paragraphs where it was unclear if our narrator was recollecting a memory, speaking about what was currently happening or just dreaming. But it all

It's amazing how things can change when fear is involved. The leaders in this book kind of remind me of the extreme Christian male Republicans in the United States. Set in a future where men have taken over and women have no rights. Women are only good for reproduction. We see the story as told by one handmaiden.

People think things like this could never happen they are mistaken. People will fold up if they fear death or death of a loved one.

The book was nowhere near as engaging as I expected it would be.
Sure I have watched the series and I thought the series and the book were close to each other in the storyline.
This would be one of the few times I have ever said a series is better than the book.
I could the book a bit ho-hum to be honest and maybe even a bit rushed.
Yep, I am disappointed, I really expected better.
