I loved this book! It is based loosely on the Cinderella story however it has been changed enough that to me it was fresh and new! Cinder does have an evil stepmother and two stepsisters, one of whom she really loves. She is living in New Bejiing sometime after world war 4 has ended, where Cyborgs are a reality. They are also second class citizens. Cinder is a cyborg who makes money as a mechanic, fixing Hover craft, this centuries means of transportation, port screens, this centuries television ...more

Shelves: read-in-2012, ya, books-i-love

The reviews for this book are all over the place. My suggestion is that you just read it for yourself and make up your own mind. I love the story of Cinderella. Add to it the twist that Cinder is cyborg and a mechanic and you have an original story full of heart wrenching moments, romance and hope. Looking forward to 2013 and book #2.
