What Members Thought

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started reading The Silence of the Stones. The story starts off by showing three different characters lives. I was a little intrigued to see how these three characters would encounter each other and why, so although I found it a little confusing keeping track of these three characters’ lives, I found myself getting sucked into the story and didn’t put the book down until I had finished.

A disturbing tale of lies piled on top of lies, of unsolved murders and untapped talents. Without telling any spoilers, it is difficult for the reader to believe that the main character Alana reached adulthood without losing her mind. The feeling of impending doom hangs over her head from the first chapter and the reader prays that everything will work out for her until the very end.

One of the best books I've read since I joined Goodreads to find new authors. I feel like Alana is my best friend. I really cared what happened to her, and a lot did! i defy anybody to guess the end. It was truly amazing.

After reading Touching the Wire earlier this year, my expectations were high when I started to read this book. Often a dangerous thing, but my high expectations were met.
Bryn carefully builds up her characters, a sense of intrigue and atmosphere until the story explodes in a thrilling conclusion. A cliché, I know, but I did stay up late to finish reading this last night.

The first book I read by Rebecca Bryn was Touching the Wire, which is one of the best books I have read. The Silence of the Stones is equally well written, without the intensity - a very enjoyable read. The main character, Alana, is so real and believable that she quickly pulls you into her life, which jumps between Alana's complicated but grounded life and the mysteries and powers of the runes. Rebecca's descriptions make you feel that you are there with Alana in the Welsh countryside, helping

Rebecca Bryn has woven a complex tale of lies, deceit, and mystery. Just when I thought I had things figured out, she took me in a different direction. The Silence of the Stones is a compelling story that is hard to put down once begun. In fact, I had several sleepless nights when I could not get Alana and Rhiannon and the other characters, along with the astonishing events, out of my head. Too sleepy to keep reading, but too caught up in the tale to turn it off.
