Everything that I loved about The Rosie Project didn't apply to The Rosie Effect. It wasn't humourous (I laughed just once), I hated selfish selfish Rosie and Graeme Simsion did that typical thing where things just keep going outrageously wrong until the very last second (view spoiler). I found it to be quite a tedious book to read. Disappointing! ...more

I enjoyed this book but not quite as much as the first one. It did get better for me after the halfway point. Don is a trip and I love all of the "innocent" fiascos he gets himself into. ...more

Again, I seem to be starting a series, but not starting on the first book. I assume that there is a book that was released before this one, maybe even 2, I haven't really checked. That said, I didn't have any issues picking up on the undertones and currents without the benefit... so a stand-alone if you want it to be.

I've been putting off writing this review for the sole purpose that my mother told me if I wrote a bad review for "The Rosie Effect" she's cut me. I think she was only partially kidding.

This is going to be rather short and I'm not doing a synopsis like I usually would. The cheat sheet version (in case you did know) is that Don and Rosie are now living in New York and Rosie has just announced that she's pregnant. As you can imagine Don doesn't handle it like one might expect.

I loved The Rosie Project and couldn't wait to read the sequel! Without giving away anything from the first book - the second one is never as great as the first. ...more
