Shelves: hardcover, buddy-read, library, read-in-2015

Conflicting emotions about this one. On one hand I was at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen to Nathan. I had to put it down a couple of times because I was so anxious and sad for the HORRIBLE behavior that he endured.

On the other hand, I felt like not much happened despite his running around. I feel like I still don't have a clear sense of what's really going on. Add to it that I don't like the romance. Annalisse was weak and besides her being kind to him, I wasn't sold that ...more

I was torn between 4 and 5 stars on this one, I didn't like it initially and even considered abandoning but I'm so glad I didn't, as I am now hooked and have already bought the next book in the trilogy. Very unusual, unless witches are your thing, so for me I enjoyed the novelty of a new genre I suppose and I absolutely loved Nathan the main character, you cannot help but want him to have a better life. ...more
