This was a good enough book for me but nothing over the top. It kept me entertained but I wasn't dying to know who did it. I could have stopped reading it at any time. I did finish it and pretty much guessed who it was about midway. It was an easy read and flowed fast. The characters were flawed but not as much as Gone Girl which I really didn't care for. ...more

An interesting look at dysfunctional relationships and the damage caused by manipulative, narcissist and controlling people but I couldn't describe the book as a thriller. I found much of the book very slow. It only really speeds up in the last few segments.
My big problem was the three narrators, Rachel, Anna and Megan sounded indentical. All neurotic and self obssessed! Several times I had to check the chapter heading because I'd lost track of which character was feeling sorry for herself.

This was far from a thriller. Whilst a good read and an easy read it was not compelling and probably took me longer to read because of this. The protaganist was an extremely annoying character but then now I think about it so were all the characters.

I do not understand why people are raving about this book. There are so many better books out there. I give it 4 stars because it is an easy read and worth considering but not because it is outstanding.

A perfect example of why I don’t read books that are hyped. Perhaps if I had discovered this blindly and had low expectations I would have enjoyed this more. There was an interesting twist at the end and I found this to be a quick read but overall I wasn’t wowed.

Rachel was sad. She made me feel annoyed and bad for her at the same time. She kept digging herself into a huge hole and I found it hard at times to feel sorry for her. Both Anna and Meghan were self-absorbed women for whom I found it ex

Ugh! I don't know what to say. I don't know why people are calling it a fast paced thriller because it was NOT. I do not like books where I cannot even bring myself to like any of the characters. It was a No No for me. ...more

I really enjoyed this book, it was fairly hard to put down and had a few twists and turn along the way. Great characters, very believable.

For those of us who have experience emotional abuse, I think we will recognize a master at gaslighting in this story. I've rarely seen one portrayed so skillfully.
The way the author wrote this book was interesting. Editors often tell writers to use dialogue to move the story along. This author did not do that at all. She wrote the story almost completely in the heads of the main characters, but it worked.
Having said that, the beginning was slow, it took quite a while before the action picked u
