What Members Thought

I really liked this YA story of different kinds of people set in an odd world. The reds with red blood, lower class, and the silvers with silver blood, the "better cold" class with special powers. But there is a new improved "people"…the red and silver mix…better and stronger than all. I am only upset that this is not a stand alone book. I am getting tired of all the YA series.

DAMN!
Probably the best book I've read so far this year.
GO READ IT. GO READ IT NOW. GO. READ. IT
Holy chocolate biscuit, it was so good!
I won't spoil anything, no summary... READ IT!
From the moment Mare, very original name by the way entered the Silvers I stayed key up and read and read and read till I finished it. I read between the lines because when in a book you have Royalties, you know there is a game, and every character is a pawn, that set on the board game by a bigger player. And th ...more

I'm torn about rating, parts are 4, others 3. Enjoyed it overall but was unhappy with the romance and wasn't the biggest fan of the MC. Felt the story could've been developed a bit more. I want more background. HOW did this division between Reds and Silvers happen? I get the feeling that this is a dystopian type world so when/how/why the mutation??
What makes Mare so special that she was saved?
While I do like the premise, I feel like this has been a mishmash of a couple of YA books.

First book in an amazing young adult fantasy series.

Mare Barrow is your average 'Red' with her 18th birthday looming just around the corner she has accepted that her fate is to join her brothers on the front lines along with all the other hundreds of thousands of 'Reds' who have been conscripted. After all pick pocketing isn't a real job and without one there's no use in trying to fight being sent off to your death.
However Mare's world is turned upside down when she has the misfortune of pick pocketing someone faster than she is. Much to her sur ...more

I loved this story of Mare who is trying to find a way to survive by picking pockets when she picks the wrong pocket of Cal. She then finds herself in the palace and discovers that she has powers that scare many. As she tries to work out her powers she also needs to work out who to trust and her feelings about the two princes. This book was extremely addictive and didnt want to stop reading. This is a great read and cannot wait to continue onto the next book in the series. Definitely a book I wo

Review to follow.

Uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh too much betrayal.
Anyone can betray anyone?? Seriously?? No more trust?? Gaaaahhhh. I hate it. I hate the heroine even more. Such a shame, cuz this book actually can be a good one. It's too bad.
The heroine (I even forget her name already) is too stupid and too selfish. She deserve no one. ...more

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about this book. I find it quite entertaining. After finishing the last book, if inspired, I might write a longer review.
