I'm not sure... it's just not holding my interest. Too much repetition that lead to a lengthy book and characters that just fall flat.

I appreciate what this book was trying to do. Ultimately, it was trying to show the battle in Mare, and really in all people, of who to trust and who not to. Reds have hated Silvers for being their oppressors, but should they really hate ALL silvers? Do all Silvers hate Reds? Where do you draw the line between killing most

This book messed me up. MESS ME THE FECK UP!
Shade told Mare to not trust anyone. Shade. Oh my god. Shade.
Good one Aveyard! Good one. Ripped people's hearts out and it comes out a great book but it's so realistic in some emotional ways.

The more I think about this book, the more excited I become for the next one. The ending was so epic, I felt so many emotions. I don't want to spoil anything here but the ever changing dynamic between Mare and Cal and Maven is what these types of books are all about for me! Bravo. 5 stars. ...more

The story of Mare and Cal continues as they begin the fight to find the new bloods before Maven finds them and kills them. I found myself wanting but hating the scenes with Mare and Cal just wanting them to get together properly. Finding myself getting annoyed as they were never honest about how they really felt. This is a great book that you will struggle to put down. With the twist at the end I will d ...more

*YAWN* I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if I hadn't read so much dystopian fiction before. I wasn't a huge fan of book one and had hoped that book 2 would make me a fan. It didn't. The story is of Mare running around falling into trap after another. Conflicted and torn between 2 guys. Sometimes 3, it wasn't very clear and I lost interest in that portion of the story. I was bored and found myself skimming the last 4 chapters. I think I'm done with this series. ...more
