I really did enjoy this book. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if all the violence would lead to anything redeeming. So glad I stuck with it. No wonder this is such a popular series of books in schools now-a-days.

This has to be the most over-rated book I have read in a long time. I just could not finish it.
The writing style is very poor and excruciatingly jerky. There is no flow and made me physically cringe almost like nails on a chalkboard.
I kept waiting for the suspense but it just did not arrive I hope for all of you who read it it did arrive at some point.
The story is socially unacceptable for young people and if I had young adult children I would not be encouraging them to read this book.

When I first finished the Hunger Games series, I awarded it an overall 4 star. It was better than average, but lacked greatness. It was not a book that I would tell all my family and friends about. It was not a book that caused me great grief to finish it, knowing that I would have to say goodbyes to characters. It was a book I enjoyed,but when it was over, it was over.
