This is a fantastic page-turner. Very addictive adventure of a resourceful 16 year-old girl living in a post-apocolyptic North America ruled by a ruthless capital city. Every year, in a show of the capitol's supreme dominance, each district under its rule is required to send two youths to a barbaric competition called the Hunger Games. Shelves: ya, dystopian, sci-fi

This book was fast-paced and kept you interested the entire time. It was very violent, but I didn't feel like it was terribly gratuitous. I would call it "raw." It was almost painful to read. ...more
