This book broke my heart. I knew what was going to happen because I watched Season Two before reading the book but it doesn't matter.



I have been crying forever now, like my heart is going to break into a million pieces!

To begin, I did enjoy the second book more than the first in the series. There were many interesting storylines that converged to the concluding chapter. I especially enjoyed the Jacobian battles against the British, Claire working at L'Hopital des Anges, and the magical elements. There were also some great supporting characters added to the second book. I loved Mother Hildegarde de Gascogne and her trusty dog companion that has a nose for illness.
