This tiny book - a novella really - is chock full of material for discussion.
Santiago is a classic Hemingway hero - old in body but not in spirit. Determined, faithful, skilled, hard-working, brave against all odds. He is also flawed - his pride and stubborness very nearly leads to his death. And he still loses his great prize. Will he try again?
