I read this book because I love cardinals. If you like 'feel good' books that end up with everyone living happily ever after, you will love it too.

I want to live there! This book gave me such a feeling of peace, community and healing. Loved the bird, Jack, but wonder if a cardinal would actually exhibit those behaviors even if hand raised. There wasn’t a character that I disliked apart from the transient low-lifes living out in the woods. What a lovely book to finish on Christmas Day.

Set near where I live...a sweet story I could enjoy over and over. Jack the redbird is my favorite character. :-) But, I loved all the characters in this feel-good story.
Definitely an enjoyable Flagg book, a lighter read with uplifting messages for the holiday season. Loved the characters especially Jack, the very talented Redbird.

What's not to love about this sweet story. It's not rocket science and is predictable, but oh so sweet, and reading it is a nice way to forget the world right now.
