Still I Rise is Maya Angelou’s encouragement to women of color everywhere that yes they can achieve great things. These words reach for the heights and that is what every person should do, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or social standing. It is easy for women of color to think that the world is not designed for people that look like them to dream big, but that is exactly what Angelou’s signature poem does.
