I loved this book as it provides detailed insight into the French revolution from the perspective of a regional glass-blowing family - a perspective that many podcasts and history books gloss over. Although it might be all too coincidental that between the five children of the family we saw representation of all political sides of the revolution, the book chronicles the lives of the family in parallel to the key events of the revolution.
