This is a nonfiction work that I listened to on Audible. The book provides so many interesting details about our fine feathered friends. I was fascinated by what I learned from navigation abilities, behaviors and mannerisms, cognitive abilities, and resiliency in the face of environmental including habitat changes. The beginning of the book is my favorite part. I’ve always loved bird watching and photographing them but I’ve never stopped to think how we downgrade their intelligence by our language. Birds really are smart creatures when you think about all they can do – navigate to faraway places without a GPS, know what the weather is going to do before it does it and go into hiding before the storm hits, some of them can learn our language when I’ve never even thought of learning theirs, plus they sing an ...more
