I finished this book in an hour. I wanted to read the first book to see if it caught my interest to read the remaining 12. I must say, it was a very unique book that I enjoyed! It was a very short book which is why it took me not long to finish.

I forgot that I read this book cover to cover but I thought is was very good and I like the writer's style of writing. I hated how evil Count Olaf is but it just makes the book more interesting. I love it how he didn't get away with the fortune at the end and the children were saved just in time. It may say that I read it in October last year but I know I read it last year but I cant remember the month so I just added any month really.

I listened to this on audio book and I loved the variety of voices for all the characters. It made the story come to life. Lemony Snicket is a very gifted children's writer and I can't wait to see what awful things await the Baudelaire orphans in the next book.
