i knew where this book was going pretty early on, but i still managed to ugly cry the final 25% — i was going to give it 4 stars, but its ability to evoke such strong emotions makes it a 5 for me. this was an endearing, heartwarming story about the importance of community and found family, particularly while navigating complicated grief and unresolved trauma. i love marcellus (great narration by michael urie), and i think some of my fondness for this novel relates to tova reminding me of my mate
