Wow. I really liked this! There was humor in it and I wasn't expecting that, so it made it even more fun to read.

I was totally taken by surprise with the twist in here...Sophie is not what you expect! And I am at a loss for what to think about Archer. I also want to know if Sophie I betrothed to anyone - maybe she can be with Archer. Or Cal. Or maybe we'll find someone for Sophie in the next book.

This is certainly not the kind of book I would ordinarily read. Paranormal teen fiction? But oddly enough, I didn't hate it. It was predictable, it was a bit cheesy and there were times I felt a bit too old to be reading it (since when were scrunchies so uncool? Man, I am out of touch!) but it was a light and easy read and I can say I've at least tried a brand new genre for me. ...more

a cute book for a boring afternoon. really funny, love the sarcasm. Some things very pretty obvious hence the four stars.

This was just an entertaining book for me.

Not a perfect book, but I laughed a lot, and it was generally a harmless bag of fluff. Total guilty pleasure, especially if you don't go in reading with high expectations. It surpassed it by a lot, tbh.

As a grumpy old lady of a YA reader (I'm almost 27, but still...) this book gets a pass. :)

A little slow, but the last part of the book was worth it!

The plot was the usual, and a bit predictable, but Sophie's actions and feelings keep me motivated page after page. I did like the end of the book, and will continue with the series because I really want to know more about the characters.

I've always found magic and witchcraft exiting. I loved the Harry Potter world, and when I saw this book I wanted to read it right away.

The book starts off a little slow, but after she gets on to the school Hex Hall the book starts to take form. She soon finds out she's a powerful witch, but doesn't know much about the magical world, as she was raised by her human mother.
She quickly befriends her roommate Jenny, who turns out to be a vampire. Most people at the school suspect that she killed he

Great start to a YA series. The writing was top notch. Lots of snarky one liners had me chuckling. Overall the story was rather serious though. Even the mean girl angst was well written and didn't put me off. ...more
