Wow, what an incredible, powerful read! I laughed, I cried. I was overjoyed, disgusted, stunned, excited. I smiled, I frowned. It was truly an amazing roller coaster ride for me. The story itself is very well-developed and the concept of this dystopian future comprised of five factions is interesting, creative, and effective for this book and the many sequels I hope will follow. The book starts with its female protagonist, Beatrice, who must make one choice that will transform her forever: at th ...more

Ok I knew everyone liked it spin have it a try and I see why. It is pretty damn good.

Interesting premise. Good characters. And impressive writing.

It was like being in a car before a car crash. Everything is going along as it should. Oh look a bird- BOOM! Cars spinning. People screaming. And before you know it your head is through the windshield.

Gruesome but accurate. Oh and the bird was the passing of the initiates. Because that's when shit went down.

First off, Tris was not how I imagined sh

Edit: So it takes place in Chicago. Lol. Well that's rather... funny. I somehow missed that over and over. Oh well. Still not really explained at all through the narrative.

Hmm.
Hmmm.
Hmmmm.

Unforunately I can not say I am on the bandwagon for this book. I found it too insistent on itself. Overall it fell flat for me. The characters weren't rounded or deep and I found myself annoyed at the way Tris changed so often to fit into the context of what was happening.

This book came recommended to me by someone. I am a skeptic and a very diehard Mortal Instruments fan. So my bar is set high because I literally devoured everything TMI related. Divergent while not as humorous and diverse as TMI had one thing that kept me wanting more. Solid lead characters. If it did not I would have disregarded it completely. You can not compare the two series because they are so very different so I had to come at this from a neutral state with the hope that it would keep my i ...more

This book was incredible. I loved how Tris would react to many things in different ways and how she stayed so calm through out all this bull shit life of hers. I love Four ( Spoiler ) / Tobias because he was a very good at hidding all his secrets in the story and he seems like a put together person but really he is broken an characters like this usually catch my attention.

I am Dauntless!!!!

With this book I never wanted to put it down. The main character Beatrice a.k.a Tris h.ad a very tough time when she had to pick which faction she would be in and that was because she is Divergent. I wish I could say more but I would be giving away too many spoilers
