It's great. But it's kind of long winded. Markus Zusak likes to describe things not too simple, so that is an advantage for a reader. But if the levels of how authors described things with so much detail were to be water in a water goblet, Markus Zusak's would be overflowing .

I love how this book toys with your emotions. (view spoiler)[ An example is in the end, when Hans comes back from fighting in the ar, so everything seems okay. Also how Leisel writes her story is so heartwarming, you wouldn't dare to think of anything bad happen to her. Then comes the bombs that destroy the so called "Heaven" street. The part when Leisel grabbed the accordion and put it on her Papa, desperately wanted him to play it again once more time was so heartbreaking. (hide spoiler)]
