Ok, I finally understand everyone's obsession with this series. This book was awesome. With a strong storyline, great romance, and a good mix of sexy, this book had it all. This is a re~read for me for the Long Hard Ride new cover release. I liked the original cover but this one works just a well for me!! Very Nice!!

I'm a HUGE fan of this series and of Lorelei James. She is one of my favorite authors and this series is definitely why. No one writes more sexier cowboys than Lorelei. ;)

I fell in love with not only Channing and Colby but the entire McKay ~ West clan. I definitely wanted more of this family, especially Cord.

Channing was a great mixture of sweet and feisty. She definitely had to have a bit of wild in her to keep up with Colby and his demanding and kinky ways! I loved her character so much. She was so much fun. Colby was a piece of work. His character was charming, sexy, demanding, stubborn, sweet and smokin' hot but he could also be arrogant and a bit of an ass hat. He was a lot of fun to read also. I really liked them as a couple and wanted Colby to realize that Channing was perfect for him before it was too late. Their road to their HEA wasn't easy but it was definitely fun to read. Loved the ending~So good!!

Wow...the sex practically fried up my Kindle. I almost had to put it in the freezer to cool it off. That is another thing that Lorelei excels at, hotter than hell sex scenes!! She gave us a little bit of everything in this book and then gave us some more and even added in some sizzilin' man love.

I really liked the friendship that Colby had with Trevor and Edgar and how easily Channing fit in with them. I also liked the friendship that developed between Channing and Gemma.

Such a great story and the start to what is an excellent series.

***I have my favorite couples/stories in this series ~ Colt & India, Cam & Domini, Kade & Skylar, but my absolute favorite is Cord & AJ. I just loved everything about their story, Cowgirl Up And Ride. Cowboy Take Me Away, which is the last book in the series and the story of Carolyn & Carson, is another particular favorite of mine and might actually be my favorite of the series~it was that good!*** ...more

Wow, there are so many things to be said about this book. It took me about a couple weeks for me to get through this book. When I first started it, I was pretty shocked and appalled. I was thinking, "Oh my goodness. This is too much, but I strangely am drawn in and I want to know where this goes." After I got maybe a quarter of the way through, I was really enjoying and couldn't figure out why.

Amazing first book. Way more erotic then I first thought.
Channing is in a sorta midlife crisis and decides to go on the road with a rodeo cowboy that hasn't been completely trustful with Chan after leaving him she meets Colby McKay Trevor and Edgard. The have an understanding that anything goes in or out of bed. That's until Colby start to feel possessive and try's to claim Channing but before Colby and Channing really say what they're feeling Colby has a serious accident whole competing.
