If I hadn't seen a movie or two based on this book, I'm sure I'd have been shocked out of my chair with how this story unfolded. It leaves the reader with a lot to think about, particularly the care of the mentally challenged. In many states in the US, Lenny Small would have been executed for murder and his well intentioned friend George wouldn't have been able to save him.

This is one of the books with missing reviews. In fact, I read it some 15 years ago and posted my review here. However, I can't recall all I've written here, therefore, I have to say something about this novel.
I think we can enjoy reading it since it's a short one, around 100 pages. Psychologically, its plot's concerned with the relationships between two friends, George and Lennie. I liked John Steinbeck's style of writing, I mean his ways of narrative (not too long) and lots of dialogues. At th ...more
