OK. This was way more fun to read than I'd have ever expected. After a string of dry dystopian and altogether awful sci-fi this year, what a treat it is to read something deeply rooted in the fantasy genre and yet humorous to its core. I haven't had so much fun reading since I can remember.

The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett is the first in the discworld series and, if you arent aware of them I can only say one thing - where on Discworld have you been for the last three decades?!
Its been a long time since I last read The Colour of Magic, the first in the series, and I was quite interested in going back and re-reading some of the earlier novels which, to be fair, are completely different to the most recent offerings. Different certainly but not remotely inferior.

I like fantasy. I enjoyed Good Omens. I did not really enjoy this one. Too many things did not make sense, the plot seemed to skip and jump in places, leaving out interesting adventures and focusing in on not so important parts. Ah well, I will probably try the next one to see what happens to Rincewind.
