Ok is all I can say to the latest Pendergast novel; Pendergast was not as fascinating as he usually is and even D'Agosta was sort of subdued. The story was ok, readable, entertaining, just not stellar. I'm glad they didn't stoop to being disgusting with the animal sacrifices and other torture scenes. They write tasteful horror, if there is such a thing! ...more

Constance Greene doesn't have an appearance in this story - just a vague comment from Pendergast about her stay in Tibet and his plan to go where she is once things settle. ...more

Edit: June 14th, 2022: read this years ago in 2009. Gave it 3 stars then. Picked it up again and loved it more the second time around. Edge of your seat thriller. Couldn’t put it down. Such a fast paced, intense, scary storyline. Highly recommend.

Cemetary Dance was a good book. I woudln't consider it their best Pendergast novel, but if you've read the others you'll probably want to read this one. It left you hanging at the end a little bit, so I'm excited for their next Pendergast novel to come

I truly enjoyed this book just as I have all of the Preston and Child novels, especially those with Agent Pendergast. However, I delayed reading this becuase of all of the work that it takes to satisfy my obsension of tracking all of the characters in their novels. By my count there are 615 with Ogilby showing up on the last page before the epilogue. First read Feb 18 to Feb 20, 2010.
Second read July14, 2016 to July 30,2016.
Third read January to January 26, 2024

I want to give this 3 1/2 stars. I've never disliked a Pendergast book, and I didn't dislike this one, but it was disappointingly predictable. I like being surprised by the ending, to have the "wow, how are they going to explain THIS one" thought prolonged. Also, those people in NYC riot too damn much. ...more
