I think this is the story of every girl out there. We imagine, we dream and then we grow up.
I absolutely fell in love with Ann, I think just like the story she conquered my feeling for her. It is a great told story
I can't remember if I ever read this when I was younger but I don't believe I did. I really enjoyed the novel and appreciate how Anne's enthusiasm for everything leaps off the page. She was, at times, exhausting and I could feel Marilla's weariness when she could barely keep up with Anne's shenanigans. Anne has a wonderful heart which is what makes her so irresistible. I never read this in childhood and was barely even aware of it. A friend recently recommended it -- delightful! And sad. I am utterly charmed by Anne and the language and writing. Are the rest in the series as good?
