Meh. Perhaps if I had read this book when I was younger, as most people seem to have, I might have enjoyed it more. As it was, I just really didn't care much for the characters. I mean that in two ways; I didn't find that any of the characters were beyond marginally likable. I also did not really care whether they were happy, or if their house caught fire and they all died a horrifying death in the end. A great story of four fantastic sisters who are forced to part their separate ways. There is many surprises in this book setting the fact that your life is not set in stone and maybe that is the saddest part of it. It is to show that keeping memories you prize dearly to your heart might be all you need for the long run. It's such a great novel that I keep going back to read it.
