Maybe the fact that I already saw the movie twice deterred me a bit from actually reading this long book but I'm glad that my friend basically forced me to by buying me the audio version. I really enjoyed voice and mannerisms of Dr. Larch and all the main characters in the novel. I also liked that Homer Wells led an unconventional life in those times. I wish I had actually finished this book about 6 months ago when we were going to discuss it during our book club but overall, I enjoyed this book ...more

As a pro-lifer (for self), but pro-choicer (for all), I hold this book in high regard. It does not in any way glorify abortion, instead abortion is the antagonist throughout the entirety of the story.
