Good start, Stephen King. Good start.
I saw the movie CARRIE the year it was released (probably the very weekend it came out!) but never read the novel till just a few years ago. And I've probably seen the film 3 or 4 dozen times since it came out. I was AMAZED by how much better the book was and kicked myself for not reading it sooner in my life. I highly recommend this book to any Steven King fan, but also recommend it to other horror lit fans as a good introduction to King's works; his early works in particular.

Better than the movie. Had I read this years ago before the movie I probably would have given it a 5 star. I knew what was going to happen so it took some of the mystery out of the story for me and that is the only reason why it got a 4 and not a 5.
