The take on how the hidden psychopath avoids being exposed could have been interesting if wasn't for the completely unreadable passages of very explicit scenes of violence. One wonders if this is the sign of a daring writer who is a genius or a crazy psycho writing about his own fantasies or maybe he simply just put the scenes in to gain publicity. Whatever the reason, the book ends up being surrealistic and sick in both plot and writing.

Wow, where do i begin? The mind of a psychopath.... very interesting.
I can definitely understand why people would hate this book, it is extremely disturbing to say the least, and very graphic. But i really did enjoy this one ( I am not psycho, i promise, okay maybe sometimes, but not that type of psycho. lol) Bret Ellis in my opinion, has a brilliant way of confusing you in this book.
