This is the book that the Best Picture movie, Slumdog Millionaire, is based off of. While a huge fan of the movie, I did not enjoy the book nearly as much. The movie is VERY loosely based on the book and besides a handful of characters with the same name and a couple similar flashback scenarios, the two may as well be completely separate. This is one of those rare times when the movie outshines the book.
