This book threw me for a loop as in I thought it was going to be a mystery novel and, while it was, it was more of a study of human psychology and the intricacies of a thoroughly messed up marriage. I started out not understanding what all the hype was about and the book just got better and better with constant plot twists. It's been awhile since I read a book with such a well planned plot. Normally a book gets a lot of hype, then I read it and I'm disappointed (I'm looking at you Fifty Shades/Twilight). This book was just a lot of fun.
The story is told in first person - one chapter from the husband's perspective as he deals with the moments following his wife's disappearance, the next chapter is an excerpt from his wife's diary. I was upset that mundane things like "work" and "meals" cut into my reading time and prevented me from getting to the bottom of what happened.

It grabbed me from the very first page. I've been on a reading hiatus and this reeled me right back in. I loved all the machinations and the persona of the Amazing Amy. Heard there was chance for a sequel.

This book certainly piqued my interest and kept me listening. (Listened to CDs in my car). However, as it became more and more ugly, made me more and more uncomfortable. Strange, creepy ending!!
