I just finished reading "Unbroken", I won it as a goodreads giveaway. All I can say is, amazing! I could not put this book down. I would be so honored to meet Louie Zamperini. He lived through so many hardships, yet kept his wits about him to survive while also helping those around him. He witnessed the worst and the best in humans, and with God's grace was able to forgive his tormentors.

Really loved it. Brutal though, so much of it. And I looked further into Laura Hillenbrand's health, which is not good and she'd previously written about. I'm so impressed she's been able to pull together such compelling, well written and researched books.

It's mind boggling to read such graphic accounts of the lives of the POWs from the Pacific Theatre... In the book it said 37% of the Allied POWs were killed during their emprisonment compaired to the 1% of the POWs in Europe... How could people just stand there and let the guards and the Empire of Japan order the torture, malnourishement and execution of people?
