Although, thanks to a new puppy and being hurt, this little book took me weeks to read, it was actually very good. The story itself was slow, but I really enjoyed Kitty's voice. Her thoughts were brutally honest and rang true. I would recommend this book and look forward to reading more of his work. ...more

This is the second Maugham book I've read. He has this way of telling stories where nothing really happens, but you're spellbound and you want to hear the next part. I have told people that it's like hearing a story from the best storyteller you know. I highly recommend it. ...more
