I generally enjoy biographies and this one was no exception. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I knew more about France, cooking, the French language and French cooking. I vaguely remember seeing Julia Child on television when I was younger and she always struck me as an entertaining person. She tells it like it is and is generous with her expressions of joy, frustration and surprise. I would not have picked up this book to read on my own but we are doing the movie "Julie and Julia"
