No going to lie, I struggled to really get into the majority of this book, but that last 25% had me a mess. And those last few chapters with 'the drop' had me in tears. SJM is so good at creating characters I fall in love with and end up sobbing over. ...more

2021 Update: 4 stars

I wasn't sure whether to give this book a 4 or a 5. What solidified it to a five star book was the last 350 pages. Sarah J Maas is an exceptional writer with solid world-building and character development. We can see this in Crescent City and let me tell you, the world building was DENSE. It slightly threw me off reading this book to be honest. It was just information overload so I decided to skim through most of the history/power hierarchy. As much as I love thick books, I a ...more
