Really good horror for Halloween. So glad I read this. Interesting because the tone sounded a lot like A High Wind in Jamaica by Richard Hughes the last nyrb edition I read.

I have had this book on my bookshelf for as long as I can remember so decided it was time to either read it it or get rid of it.
Deciding to dive in with no real idea what it was about, it had a real old time horror feel to it, but was quite slow in getting going.
The plot twist actually was a surprise for me.
