About 3/4ths of the way through this book, I came across a phrased that summarized this volume for me. Speaking of some recollections, the author described them as “shreds of inconsequential memories”. That perfectly described this book in my humble opinion, a collection of shreds of inconsequential memories. In 1983, the author discovers that he was incorrectly diagnosed with lung cancer.
