I listened to the audio, narrated by Lloyd James, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lloyd James brought this story to life. His voice for Manuel was perfect and he gave each character a personality.
I thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi retelling of the American Revolution featuring an AI sentient computer, rocks, the harsh environment of the Moon and some interesting look at a new civilization that has morphed into something the Earth never thought it would.

I was warned that this is a "very Heinlein" book, and since I've only read one other (Starship Troopers, meh) I'm assuming that means briefly summarized action sequences, long drawn-out political conversations, incredibly detailed descriptions of communications systems, and problematic female characters. I actually liked a lot of the first half of the book, regarding engineer Mannie's attempts to teach joke theory and a more human-like thought process to AI Mike, who is hands-down the best chara
