I finally found my enchanting summer book of the year by early September, though this would be a good one to pick up during the doldrums of February. A group of four very different women, all strangers to each other, decide to split the cost of renting a castle on the Italian coast for the month of April. Four unhappy British ladies take a husbandless holiday on the Italian coast and find happiness. At first I thought this was a feminist novel, but (view spoiler) , so it can't be, but it's still very good.

3 1/2 stars. Charming, often funny, and hopeful. Made me want to visit Italy. It was billed as "light reading" and it fulfilled it's purpose.
