I like this book more than The 42nd Parallel. I think it's because the second part of the book felt more like a unified whole, with the characters lives intertwining and the single event of WWI and its end. I also enjoyed seeing most of the characters from 42nd Parallel reappear. I think I would have enjoyed following the same set of characters better, but I understand the author's choice. ...more
