There were a lot of ideas that could have come from this book, but the writing was pretty bad.

Already in the first four pages, twice he has to have his attention brought back to the present. The build up to "something is actually wrong" is especially bumpy. Ok, the power goes out so often, why is it worrying now?

An interesting look at a Northern Community, in the dead of winter, in a time of upheaval.
The people are cut off from supply lines and communication; they have to rely on themselves and come together as a community for survival.
This had a lot of interesting elements to it but, for me, the writing didn't delve into these elements, which made the story bumpy & uneven.

I absolutely loved this book!

It is an apocalyptical story about an Anishinaabe community who lose all power/ cell phone, landline and ultimately get cut off from the rest of the world. The reason for the loss of power and communication is never explained, but this does not take away from the story.
